Stressed Asset & NPA Resolution
Support for NPA-tagged accounts, SMA classification, one-time settlement (OTS) discussions and related lender coordination — for situations where a conventional bank route may no longer apply.
Role disclosureAFC is an independent finance consultancy, not a bank, NBFC or lender. We do not sanction or disburse funds, approve restructuring or determine OTS terms — we facilitate case coordination and introductions with relevant institutions, subject to their own independent assessment.

Common questions about this service
Can I still get funding if my account is already tagged NPA?
Possibly, depending on the case. Some lenders consider fresh funding, takeover financing or restructuring even after NPA classification, subject to the security offered, outstanding liability and the lender's own risk assessment. Each case is evaluated independently.
What is the difference between SMA and NPA classification?
SMA-0, SMA-1 and SMA-2 are early-warning stages preceding NPA classification, generally based on days overdue (commonly up to 30, 31–60 and 61–90 days respectively for non-revolving facilities). NPA classification generally follows more than 90 days overdue, subject to applicable RBI norms.
Is a One-Time Settlement (OTS) always the best option?
Not necessarily. Depending on the case, restructuring, refinancing, takeover funding or another resolution route may be more appropriate. The right route depends on the outstanding liability, security, financial position and the lender's own requirements.
Will my existing bank know that I have made this enquiry?
Enquiries are treated confidentially within our business process. Information is not automatically shared with your existing bank or any third party. If you authorise an introduction, relevant information may need to be shared with that party for evaluation.
