₹5 Crore+ Corporate Funding: Information Normally Required

Large-ticket enquiries move faster when the paperwork is ready before the first conversation, not assembled after.

Why preparation matters more at this size

At ₹5 Cr and above, lenders and investors generally apply a more detailed assessment process than for smaller, standard facilities — more documentation, more scrutiny of the underlying transaction, and often more than one round of questions. Having the core information organised upfront tends to shorten that process meaningfully.

What's normally assessed

  • The amount and proposed tenure
  • The purpose of funding — expansion, working capital, refinancing, a specific transaction
  • Available security or collateral
  • The expected repayment source or transaction event
  • Financial and operational information, typically including recent financial statements
  • Contractual or work-order documentation, where relevant to the security
  • Existing borrowing and obligations
  • The timeline and conditions of the proposed transaction

Pricing, tenure, security, fees, disbursement conditions and other commercial terms aren't predetermined — they're proposed and decided by the relevant lender or investor after reviewing this information.

What a term sheet typically covers

Depending on the transaction and the financing institution, a term sheet may address the proposed facility amount, tenure, security or assignment arrangement, pricing, fees, milestone-linked conditions, repayment provisions and conditions precedent to disbursement. It remains subject to the institution's due diligence, documentation and internal approvals.

Entity and background information that's often requested

Beyond the transaction specifics, lenders commonly want entity type and incorporation details, promoter or director background, and existing banking relationships — partly to understand the borrower's track record, and partly as standard due diligence for a facility of this size.

A practical starting point

Assembling financial statements, a clear funding-purpose narrative, and details of any proposed security before the first conversation — it's the single change that most consistently speeds up a large-ticket enquiry.
